Frequently asked questions

Repair questions, answered.

What is the diagnostic fee?

The standard workshop diagnostic fee is £25 per item. Larger or more complex equipment—such as large mixers, powered speakers, PA equipment, valve amplifiers and other items that take longer to dismantle and test—may be £50 or £75. The applicable fee is confirmed before the item is booked in or payment is taken. The fee is paid upfront and covers inspection and testing before quoted repair work begins.

Will you repair it without asking me first?

No quoted repair work should start until the quote has been approved. Customers can approve or decline a quote through the secure repair portal.

How long will my repair take?

Turnaround depends on the fault, the workshop queue and parts availability. Your repair page is updated as it moves through diagnosis, parts, repair and testing.

Do you repair mobile phones or tablets?

No. The workshop is focused on audio, musical equipment, lighting/control products and selected electronics rather than phone/tablet repair.

What is included in the £50 Valve Amp Health Check?

All fitted valves are tested for condition using our Amplitrex AT1000. Output-valve bias is checked and adjusted where applicable, along with checks for obvious microphonics, valve noise and visible socket or output-stage issues. New valves and other repair parts are quoted separately.

How do I check my repair?

Use the secure Track My Repair link supplied for your job. If you lose it, request a fresh link using your repair number and booking email address.
